3rd Trimester - 27 Weeks!

I've officially moved into the 3rd trimester of the pregnancy. I can't believe there are only 13 weeks left! I could deliver anywhere between 10 & 15 weeks from now. CRAZY! Well, we're working on getting everything ready for the new baby. The baby's room has been emptied of all the storage now and we're getting ready to paint it. We still need to start thinking a little more seriously about names (we're both procrastinators, which isn't exactly a good thing). The baby is really packin' on the pounds because it has to put on 5 lbs. or so from now until delivery.

Baby's First Vacation

We took the little squirt on his/her first vacation in sunny Fort Myers, Florida with Mandi & Ryan. We stayed with Mandi's grandpa, Don. It was filled with a lot of eating, lounging in the sun, and relaxing in the pool & Gulf of Mexico.

Of course, I needed to get an umbrella for the weekend in order to prevent any burning. I don't exactly get a golden tan.

Corey had quite a spendy mishap. He decided he would wear his wedding ring in the Gulf while playing football. Needless to say, the ring disappeared. He still has the tan line to prove he is married, but now we have to replace it.
It was a fun trip. We can't wait to take the baby on an actual vacation outside of the womb. Only 3 1/2 months or less!

On the last night we went to Shoeless Joe's to play trivia with Grandpa Don. He plays every week, so every time we come down we do one night of trivia with him. It's a blast!

I actually took first place in one of the games. I had to take a picture because I even suprised myself. We all took the top five spots.

We also ate at a fabulous restaurant called Bonefish and yes, there were other things besides fish on the menu for poor little Corey. He did try the crab cakes, so I was quite proud of him. It was fun to get cleaned up and eat somewhere fancy.

24 weeks!

Well, my uterus is now the size of a soccer ball and the little baby is over a pound & about a foot long! I can't believe I have a soccer ball inside me (of course, there's a cute little baby inside of that). My baby is now to the viability stage where it could technically survive outside of me. Not with quite a bit of potential complications, so it needs to just stay put, but for a Labor & Delivery nurse that's a fun milestone to hit. I spent the last seven days at the cabin and Corey joined me for the weekend. It was a blast! Quite relaxing to say the least with a little shopping, swimming, fishing, and walking with the neighbor girls. Katie, Casey, ValRae, and Bekki accompanied me walking and I actually kept up pretty well. So far, the baby hasn't slowed me down too much.

I'm still playing volleyball every week with no problems yet. I figure it's good intimidation for the other teams, right? I did order my bridesmaid dress for Jenna's wedding. It's amazing how big you have to get it to fit over an ever-growing belly. I'm going to have to get it taken in quite a bit everywhere else. Oh well, if it looks like I'm wearing a tent, so be it.

Anyhoo, I plan to add some pictures from the cabin when I have time at home to download them. Maybe tomorrow night. 16 weeks until the due date! Wow, this is flying by!

Ultrasound!

Here's the upper half of the body. The dark area in the chest is the heart.

We had our 20 week ultrasound today. The baby's heart rate was 162 beats per minute and measured at exactly 20 weeks 3 days, which is right where I'm at. It's about the size of a sweet potato. Cute, eh? I didn't get any full body shots because I was trying not to see the lower half. I still want it to be a suprise. Corey and Angie watched intently trying to see what they could, but it was a little too high tech for them. All is going well now that I have new pants and capris that fit. It's kicking every day like crazy. Both mom and dad were able to feel the little kicks this weekend at the cabin, so that was fun. Angie and Corey have been for a couple of weeks now. It's so exciting! Corey and I decided we better get a move on with the baby's room and stuff since we haven't touched it yet. It's basically for storage now. With all the weddings and vacationing this summer it's going to be here it no time at all. Yay!

Celebration!

20 weeks on 5/27/06!

Corey and I spent the weekend with my family up north and celebrated some great events. I'm now officially 20 weeks into my pregnancy as of Saturday (half way!) and today is our 2 year anniversary. My mom bought us a Dairy Queen ice cream cake, of course, since I don't like cake. I had my own piece, Corey's leftovers, and Scott's leftovers. I gotta get that baby growing!

We also had a celebration Friday because my parents FINALLY finished their cabin. All the neighbors in the association came over to celebrate including Steve, Val, Casey, Katie & Jeff. We all have to encourage them to relax for a while now and enjoy their new house and cabin. It's been a lot of work for them over the past 2 1/2 years since they bought it. It's just gorgeous! I'll put some pictures on the Tribe of Adeline Blog for all to check out.

Oh, Corey, Angie, Rowan, and I head to my 20 week ultrasound tomorrow morning, so I will post pictures when I get home! Yay!

Half Way There!!!

Well, since Heidi has been updating everyone on how she is doing, I thought I would chime in and say just how excited I am for becoming a daddy for the first time. It's still amazing to me to think that she actually has a little person growing inside of her, it's so surreal and sometimes I forget the significance of what's going on in there. I know without a doubt in my mind that Heidi will be the greatest mother in the world, and I only hope that I can live up to my end of the bargain and be as great as her. So we're half way there, and the next twenty weeks can't go by fast enough.

Yay, Body Pillow!

Well, my mom had a body pillow that she didn't use and donated to the cause. I LOVE IT! It definitely helps make me feel like I'm almost on my stomach. Thanks to all who gave me some suggestions. I figured the free body pillow was a great place to start. I am, however, about to turn the air conditioning on. It's just about impossible to sleep during the heat of daytime with just a fan on. We're going up to my parent's cabin this weekend and I'm bringing the pillow with me, but no air conditioning. It could be interesting.

Anyhoo, all is well with the pregnancy. I'm going to be 20 weeks on Saturday, so that's exciting. Half way done! It's just crazy how fast it's going. I have an ultrasound next Tuesday and no, we're not finding out if it's a boy or girl. We're too excited for it to be a suprise. I will post some pictures of that next week.

Bustin' Out My Jeans!

Well, I can only keep the top button undone so long with a belt over it. I think it's time for some new clothes. Angie, Rowan and I went shopping in a quest for a new wardrobe.

Oh, don't mind the crazy make-up. We also got our faces done-up at Bare Escentials to try it out. Needless to say, we weren't very impressed. I looked like I had gotten beat up afterwards and Angie had these brownish streaks across her face (bronzing - they said).

I finally have a couple pairs of jeans & longer shirts to get by for a while. Oh the joys of a growing waistline.

Tap, tap, tap...

Okay, I was watching a little TV with Corey (Deadliest Catch - if anyone's seen it. Crazy men fishing for crab). Anyhoo, I could feel the baby move like crazy, so I put my had on my tummy. It tapped me three times. The first time I thought no way, it's gotta be something else. What else could it be? Pretty sure it's the only thing in there that can kick. Corey felt it twice too. It's starting to really become something in there. It's getting me so excited! Three weeks until our next ultrasound, so pictures to come. Love, Heidi Sue

Tummy sleeper!

Okay, seriously how is it possible to sleep only on your side? Any advice????? I am avid tummy sleeper and am pretty sure I can't do that anymore since it feels like I'm shoving a large graperfruit into my stomach when I try to sleep that way anyways. I'm trying to sleep with five pillows now days to remind me to stay on my side. It's just silly! I need a bed with a hole cut out or something. Good thing I already love this baby lots and lots! - Heidi Sue -

It's MOVING!

Crazy, this little baby is moving all around in there. On Friday, April 28th I started to feel the baby squirming around. It just felt like little flutters. Now I feel it at least once every day. I love the constant reminder that something is in there. Yay!
