Cute Moment...

I was putting down Maddox for a nap and after I laid him in his bed he got all snuggled in on his tummy and patted the space next to him saying,

"Mommy, Lay by you? Bye Baby?"

Bye Baby means he wants me to sing Rock-a-bye Baby. Isn't that so sweet. I laid my head down and started to sing and he fell asleep in 30 seconds. What a sweetheart!

Happy Birthday Auntie Jenna!

Auntie Jenna is the big 25 (tomorrow - the 15th)! Last Tuesday we headed to Don Pablos for a most excellent dinner and dessert. Maddox enjoyed the gathering, especially roaming around throughout the restaurant. He only has about a 15-20 minute attention span for going out to eat.
I had to put this one on there because he's just looking at that other chair like he just wishes someone would sit by him.
Eatin' chips. Maddox ate (and threw on the floor) lots of chips. He also enjoyed some chicken, beans and rice.
Can someone order me a beer?

Sorry, but doesn't that line just seem appropriate for this pic?
Here's Maddox getting all ready for the birthday party putting on all his new 2T dude clothes.

After dinner Corey & I went into Babies R Us and Maddox was obsessed with this Bert & Ernie firetruck.
We never really understood the draw for parents to put in a quarter, but I think we get it now.
"Hey, there's Ernie!"

My Toddler!

Well, Maddox is almost 17 months old and is now mister sweetheart! He's constantly giving hugs and kisses all day long. He also says "sit by you" and "lay by you" constantly when he wants to read a book, watch a show or take a nap. It's so sweet who could say no. His speech skills have developed so much lately too. If he drops something he says "Uh oh, dropped it" and then he'll pick it up and say "got it". So cute! He's also still doing great with the potty training. He asks to go occasionally and every diaper change we go sit on the potty chair. He always tries to go. He also tells me when he's going potty sometimes and always when he's pooping. He's also pooped 3 times on the potty chair this past week. Way to go Maddox!
Auntie Jenna came over last night to hang out with the little dude and he showed her how much he loves to read. We filled the bottom two shelves of the bookshelf in the living room with his books. He can't get enough. Jenna was pretty impressed with all of the words he knew.
Oh, and if you noticed, Maddox is wearing his new jeans in the photo. He got some 2T loose fit jeans from Gap. They are just adorable. He looks so toddler-like in them.
After all of the reading, Maddox decided to show off his gymnastic skills. It took both Jenna and I by surprise. We're not exactly sure what he's doing, but I had to take a picture.

"Cheese" and I'm done!
Okay, I took my eye off of Maddox for about 30 seconds to find him like this in the kitchen. Wow!
More sunglasses. Maddox just loves to wear his shades. Okay, they're not his, but still so cute.
I think the boys are still a little tired. Amy and I headed to the mall with the boys the other day right when it opened. I don't think they look quite ready for the day. They had a blast though and we actually did a little shopping. Well, I did anyway, but Maddox had outgrown everything. He's pretty much wearing a 2T in everything now.
We definitely wore them out! Sleeping like angels in their matching car seats.
New clothes! Doesn't he look like a little golfer? Taking after his daddy already.

Monkey towel! Auntie Jenna & Uncle Andy bought this towel for Maddox for his housewarming present. How appropriate.
Maddox's motorcycle. When Maddox was 2 months old, his cousin Eric bought him this motorcycle for Christmas. When we moved into our new house the basement was a perfect place for him to ride and he even had a helmet already courtesy of Tina, one of the nurses I work with. Thanks all!
Oh, don't you love how he has to have his tongue hanging out when he concentrates. Too cute!
