Fun at the Beach!

Maddox had quite a few firsts this week. We took him to Lebanon Hills Park this week where he got to play with sand and put his feet in the water for the first time.

Maddox absolutely loved to pick up hands full of sand and squish his feet in it.

Angie & Rowan also came over on Friday and we went to the park. It was a rough week because Rowan's been sicks, so we were quite lonesome all week. It was fun to see them Friday and we're definitely going to get together more this week.
Rowan had fun playing at the park, going down the slides, and playing with rocks. He also made a mess of his outfit, so he had to borrow one of Maddox's rompers.
Maddox decided to take his morning nap at the park.
Senior Prom! - My cousin Bradi had her senior prom on Saturday. As usual, I was on hair duty for the girls. Don't they look great! Love you Bradi!
"I'm sorry mommy - I'm just not ready for solids yet!" Maddox tried some banana and rice cereal this week. Let's just say we're going to wait a while yet. He had fun playing with the spoon though.

6 Month Stats!

Maddox had his 6 month well baby check-up today. He did great as usual. He measures 26 3/4 inches long, his head was 18 1/4 inches around, and he weighed 24 lbs 11 ounces. He's off the charts for his weight and head and in the 75th percentile for his height. He is slowly coming back to the growth chart since he only gained 3 pounds in the last 2 months.
Maddox can sit up perfectly on his own. He's babbling like crazy now with ba,ba,ba & da,da,da. He's diving for everything in sight and keeps trying to extend to items out of reach. He's got a huge personality and we're just loving every minute!

Ready for Spring!

Well, I broke down and ordered a ton of clothes on sale from Gymboree. Here's a cute spring outfit. It was fun to get him something that looks like a baby outfit. So much of what he wears looks like it's for toddlers.
I still can't get Maddox's hair to go down! It's at least shorter now, so it doesn't look so much like Donald Trump.
Maddox is becoming quite the character now. He says da, da, da constantly. Everytime he makes a new sound he repeats it for size all day long. He also will swing his arms together everytime you say, "Maddox, can you clap your hands". Then he giggles because he's just so proud of himself.
Maddox got the most adorable bunny from Grandma Michelle & Grandpa Rob for Easter. He loves to try to wrestle it - I think he likes that it's just his size.

The other night Angie, Kyle, Corey and I took the boys to Punch Pizza in St. Paul and then for a walk around St. Kate's. We stopped to see all of the ducks. Rowan's pointing them out for you.
I also went to Babies R Us the other day with Corey to pick out all of Amy's baby shower gifts. Corey and I didn't leave there withough spending over $100. Here's his adorable dino outfit.

We decided to give Cooper to Maddox now. Cooper was driving us crazy, but Maddox seems to like him so much so we thought we'd better keep him.
Maddox's favorite thing is to wrestle him and pull out fists full of hair. Cooper just loves to get any attention that comes his way.
Well, that's right, the tongue is still hanging out. It's just so cute!
"Hey ladies! Check out my new jammies."Angie & I bring Rowan & Maddox to "Let's Play! Music Together" class every Thursday morning. It's a super fun class and Rowan just loves to see Maddox there. He continuously points at Maddox and says "Maddox" throughout the class. He just seems so excited to share the experience with him. Their favorite part of the class is that they get to play the keyboard at the end.
Uncle Mark? We got home from Target the other day and it was a warm afternoon. Maddox's cheeks were all rosy and he just reminded me of Uncle Mark.
Look, I'm crafty! I bought wooden letters and paint and got all creative painting letters for Maddox's room. They turned out great.
Here's Maddox taking a nap in his crib. He seems to be getting use to it now and gets all snuggled in for naptime. He's going to be 6 months old on Tuesday and we're heading to the doctor's office Wednesday to get his next well baby check-up, so we'll update you then.

Look at my new wagon!

At the Boogie to Beat Breast Cancer fundraiser we had on Saturday, Maddox had the highest bid for the Radio Flyer Wagon. We even put him in it at the end to deter people from bidding. I think he's going to like that this summer for sure!
Here they are again in all their cuteness! We all got together at Nicole's for Amy's baby shower - she's due in 4 weeks! Belen (14 weeks), Maddox (almost 6 months), & Ellery (almost 7 months) all snuggled in together for a picture. We were actually able to get them all to look at the camera at the same time, well, after about 25 pictures.

Maddox and Ellery have taken quite a liking to each other and Ellery can hold her own even though Maddox is about twice the size of her. She's pretty tough because she has a 2-year-old brother, Caleb, to toughen her up.

Corey & I have taken a liking to giving Maddox inappropriate things and seeing what he does with them. Here are some of our favorite shots. (Don't worry - the Coke can and the chocolate soy milk aren't really open.)
We finally broke down and got Maddox a professional haircut. His hair was just getting ridiculously long on top and the sides weren't exactly keeping up.
He sat still for the whole thing!
He even relaxed with one of Ame's twin boys to watch a little television while Corey and I got our own haircuts.
Craptastrophy! Maddox is still pretty good at having the occasional blow-out. Here's a bath-requiring moment.

All better! Maddox has changed a lot over the past week or so. He now has some pretty defined babble going on. He does a good ba, ba, ba and wa, wa, wa. I'm trying to get the mama in before the dada, but we'll see. He's so well coordinated now with grabbing for things and hanging on to them. He's also entertained by dropping them and watching mommy and daddy pick them up. He still fake coughs constantly and that tongue is going to dry up soon if he doesn't get it back into his mouth. We haven't had socks on him lately because his cankles just push them right off, so he's enjoying eating his chubby toes. He's sleeping so well now. He goes to bed around 8-8:30 and sleeps until 5, nurses, and goes back to sleep until about 7. I'm liking that whole routine! He seems to be more interested in food/eating now, so I think we'll be trying solids sometime soon with him. Almost 6 months, I can hardly believe it!
