Fun at Great Grandma's!

Well, I'm back to work for my dad doing statements. Maddox and I spent the day down at my Great Grandma's where he flashed his smiles, coos, and other cute noises. He even had a regular conversation going with my dad.

Seven Weeks!

Maddox is now 7 weeks old! It's so hard to think back to how little he was (I know most of you are saying to yourself - "He was never exactly little"). He's gained over 5 lbs. already so he's definitely an armful. It's funny to watch other people hold him and tire out after a few minutes. I've definitely gotten more and more toned up in the biceps hiking him around all day long.

He's playing more and more now under his little gym and in the bath tub. He loves his bath time. He coos and smiles while he gets all cleaned up. He loves to get his hair washed.

Maddox has been a regular with me at the Mall of America in attempts to get all of my Christmas shopping done. Angie, Rowan, Mom, Maddox and I spent the day there yesterday, but I'm not sure how much we accomplished. It's hard to get a lot done with an infant and a toddler. We did sort of eat at Ruby Tuesday.

Rowan definitely loves his little cousin now for sure. He points at him, gives him kisses, always wants to hold his hands and feet, and wants to poke at him constantly. Rowan says Shhhh when Maddox is sleeping and puts his little finger at his lips. He shushes everyone around Maddox. It's so cute!

Rowan was checking out Maddox's cloth diapers and covers the other day, so we thought he should try them out too.

Chuck & Jane came by with dinner the other night and got to snuggle a little with Maddox. Isn't Chuck a natural?

Some of my Cannon friends came by to visit too. Lots of visitors this week!

It's been a great week and I'm virtually done with all of my medications. I think I might be on the verge of being healthy! Yay!

I have an Infant!

Maddox is no longer a newborn and officially an infant. Wow, six weeks old. We went to the doctor last Friday (yes, I have Thrush and Mastitis again!) and they weighed him. He's an astonishing 13 lbs 9 ounces. He doesn't exactly fit on the growth charts, so let's just say he's doing well. He's become such a calm, sweet baby now that will just sit and hang out, smile like crazy, and cuddle. He's getting more and more predictable and we can tell now more what he needs when he cries. He rolls over from tummy to back a ton. Corey was trying to air out his tushy (he has a little diaper rash), but he kept rolling over. Then Corey looked away to watch football and Maddox gave him a little shower. It was quite hilarious.

Rowan's really starting to enjoy his cousin now. He rubs his cheeks on Maddox's spiky hair and giggles. He loves to cuddle Maddox too, but sometimes he gets a little wild and we have to pull in the reigns.

He wanted to help swing Maddox by pushing all of the buttons. He could hardly reach, but was quite resourceful by getting up on his little tippy toes

Of course, Rowan had to give it a try too.

Maddox is loving the sling more and more. When he gets too hot he just squirms his little head out and lays it on my arm. So sweet!

He just started liking the toys on his bouncy chair. He now smiles and talks to the sparkling birdie. I'm pretty sure that bird is telling him something because he just goes into a trance.

We took Maddox on his first shopping trip last Saturday to the Mall of America. He was so good all day long. We met up with Auntie Jenna and Uncle Andy for a snack, so they got to enjoy the little guy too.

We were stopped by many people who had to check out how cute Maddox was and admire his spiky blonde hair. Two ladies couldn't stop talking and thought he should be in commercials. It was so nice to do a little showing off since we haven't really gone out too much yet.

After the long shopping day, Maddox was quite tired.

Fifth Week - Thanksgiving at the Cabin!

Maddox is now 5 weeks old. Crazy how the time flies by. Maddox is smiling more and more and having longer alert periods. He's getting more interested in his little gym and bouncy chair. He still sleeps a lot of course, but that's fine. He sleeps 3-4 hour stretches at night which is a blessing since I've definitely needed the rest. We had a nice week with the family. Last Wednesday night we left Maddox with my parents for an hour and a half and went out to have a drink with friends. It was so wierd to be away from him for the first time, but he was in good hands. We got home two minutes after he woke up and wanted to eat. It went perfect.
Thanksgiving was fun. We went to my Auntie Tam Tam's house for lunch and then headed to Corey's Aunt Pat's house for dinner. We had to stop on the way to feed Maddox. When he's hungry he lets you know.
Corey's cousin Teddy just had a baby too, so we had to get side-by-side shots of the dads. Maddox out-weighs his little cousin by quite a bit.


Here's a typical scene of how Maddox likes to fall asleep. As most of you know, that's how I was as a baby for the first six months. Like mother, like son.

Snuggle Time!

We went to the Nisswa City of Lights Festival where we shopped, drank cider and hot cocoa, and watched the fireworks. Maddox came with too - he's in my mom's coat. We put him there after I had to feed him in a dressing room. It was quite the ordeal. Maddox woke up while we were shopping and screamed at the top of his lungs until I fed him. Quite embarrassing.


Auntie Val just couldn't resist, so she licked her hands and spiked Maddox's hair - oh so cute!



Rowan is warming up to his cousin more and more. After I changed Maddox's diaper, Rowan couldn't help but squeeze his chubby thighs and giggle afterward. It was so cute.

We also laid them down side-by-side and Rowan began to talk to him in baby talk. I'm pretty sure they had a very meaningful conversation.
Another week down and we're still surviving. I'm feeling better and Maddox is definitely thriving. I love being a mom!
