8 Months Old!

My baby is 8 months old now and just so much fun! Believe it or not, he's actually thinning out. Corey & I keep saying how skinny he looks (which I'm sure sounds crazy to everyone else). No crawling yet, which I'm pretty excited about because all of my friends with crawlers seem to be quite busy. He is walking around furniture though. He actually had his first blood-shed last night when he was trying to walk around the coffee table and missed with his hand. His tooth went right into his lip. I'm pretty sure all three of us shed tears.

Cabbage patch doll? This is another version of Maddox's old man face. I think it looks a lot like a cabbage patch doll.Splash park! Maddox and Rowan enjoyed the splash park in Apple Valley behind Home Depot. It was so cute and nice to get wet since it was quite hot. Hunter & Amy joined us too, but Hunter wasn't so interested in the water, just nursing. Kyle was the only one in swim trunks, so he got stuck running the boys through the sprayers.

Maddox had a lot of fun playing with the spraying water coming out of the ground.
When it would stop he would just patiently wait for it to start up again.

Daycare at Nicole's house. Yes, that's right. Amy and I took on the challenge of taking care of four kids 2 and under. It was a bit of a zoo, but I think we handled it quite well. Angie & Rowan even joined us at the end of the day and Rowan & Caleb played great together in Caleb's room. We even got them outside to play in the morning. Maddox & Ellery loved the swings. There little legs would just shake with excitement.
Maddox was also very interested in the ropes holding up his swing. He just wouldn't look at me so I could catch a smile. Ellery on the other hand was more than willing.
Here's how Amy was able to help. Hunter spent much of the day in the sling. He did however have two nice moments of cooing and smiling on the floor. He's getting more and more interactive every day.
Caleb was quite the busy body running around outside taking care of things that he felt needed to be done. This was the rare moment that I could get him to stop moving and look at the camera.
"Don't look mom. I'm tasting nature."

I had to do some more shopping for Maddox. I actually found some shorts that fit him! I didn't, however, find any shoes that will work. His chubby little feet are just too thick!
Our little guy is getting so fun and developing such a great personality. We take him out to eat all the time and all around the cities. We did go to the zoo this week too with Amy, Angie, & the boys, but I forgot my camera. I'll try to get some from Angie. He does great with all the traveling and loves to go to restaurants, watch the people and eat mommy's lip gloss. He always seems to be the hit of the restaurant as all the women stop to smile at him and pinch his chubby cheeks. We actually went out twice this week! It feels good to be normal again. He's pushing himself up onto his toes and makes motions to crawl, but nothing organized yet. I think it's going to be any day now. I'm hoping it will wait a little longer though, but Corey keeps encouraging.

Twins?

Yes, that's right. Grandma Adeline has been telling me that Maddox looks just like my mom did when she was a baby and here's the proof. The round cheeks, curly hair, mouth, button nose, everything. It was just crazy when we pulled this picture out.
Here's the whole picture. It's Grandpa Dubar with his four kids. Aren't they cute!

Old Man?

Well, we're not really sure what's going on with this face, but it's Maddox's new favorite expression. He kind of looks like those old men on cards with no teeth.
Maddox finds it to be quite hilarious too. Happy Father's Day Daddy! - Corey spent his first Father's Day golfing in the morning with his dad & Andy. Then he headed out to my parent's house to hang out with Maddox. It was a nice, relaxing day. Maddox and I planned to hang out with and entertain my dad while my mom went to Seattle for work, but we were pleasantly surprised to find them both there in the morning.
Corey and I went out last Friday night to a party at Mandi & Ryan's. It was a great time and Corey even won $30 playing poker. Grandma & Grandpa played with the little guy while we were out.
Here's what we found when we got back to my parent's house. Grandma was laying on the floor next to Maddox all snuggled in.

We even brought down the pack n play and monitor figuring they would put him in there, but when he finally took a bottle and fell asleep they didn't dare move him (he doesn't exactly prefer the bottle). He definitely missed his mama though because he nursed for 30 minutes when we got home even after taking a bottle an hour prior.

We actually ended up spending the night there because we were just too tired to drive home, but by morning we ran out of diapers, so here's the solution: kitchen towel (cloth diaper) and target bag (diaper cover). One thing I learned from Chelsea (a friend who helped me get started in cloth diapering) was that all you need is something absorbant with something waterproof over it. I guess we definitely put that advice to use.

I'm pretty sure we should send this in to Target or something to see what they have to say about this use for their bags.
New clothes! - Well, it sure has been difficult to keep up with Maddox's growing since I've gone from newborn to 24 month clothing in less than 8 months. It's so sad to see the totes full of clothes he's grown out of. We are now officially to 18 & 24 month clothing, so I had to go pick up new onsies and shorts. Here's a cute outfit from baby gap too. I just can't resist hoodies!
Shopping trip with Amy & Hunter! My sister, Rowan, Amy, Hunter, Maddox & I all went to Ikea to pick up a few things the other day. It was a nice trip because all of us have small kids and are breastfeeding, so we were all patient while there were feedings, diaper changes, playing, & more going on. I think we shopped 25% of the time.
Oh, and this is how Hunter was sleeping when Amy took him out of the sling. SO CUTE! I had to take a picture.
Fun in the sun! We broke out Maddox's new pool during the 80's stretch last week.
He wasn't sure what to think at first (I think it was a bit cold). But he definitely warmed up to the idea.
He even tried to pull up on it and crawl out.
Daddy decided to get in with him too. It was a blast! Well, Maddox is almost 8 months old now. If you've noticed, in the above picture, Maddox is actually slimming out a bit. He's loosing some of his rolls and getting taller. According to a home scale he's around 26 lbs. He's not quite crawling yet, but quite mobile.

7 1/2 Months!

Oh, sweet baby - this is one of Maddox's favorite tricks. He turns his head to the side or lays it down when you say "Oh, sweet baby".
Maddox just loves his egg shaker from Music Together class. He likes to do more than just shake it, as you can see.
"I can't crawl yet, but I'm pretty cute when I'm on my tummy anyways."

4 teeth! - That's right that fourth one finally popped through. You can only see 2, but there are 2 more up top. No more bulges now, so it may be a while before we see more.

"No pictures please, I think my mama is a bit tired." I worked 2 weekends in a row because Ginelle needed to switch for a wedding. I don't work now until June 29th, so it definitely has rewards, but I was oh so tired.
Yes, that's right. With all the working I was doing, Corey was in charge of dressing Maddox. I'm not sure he looks as cute in his Hot Pants as Belen did.

Cute and Cozy!New standing toy! Daddy made a trip to Target to get Maddox a stand-up toy and he just loves it. There is a lever that makes a chu-chu train go around and he's not so sure about it.

We had some visitors last week. Courtney & Avery stopped by to hang out and try out some of Angie and my slings.

Maddox is getting more and more interactive every day. He seems to want to hand us toys or get us to chew on them. He's still on the verge of crawling, babbling more with new sounds, shakes his head yes and no, claps his hands, we're working on waving, and as you can see he still does the above like crazy.
