7 Months - Cabin Fun!

Maddox is now 7 months old. He has 3 teeth - almost 4, but that upper left one hasn't quite popped through yet. He's on the verge of crawling, rolls everywhere and tries to pull up on everything. He's still da, da, daing all day long and has now adopted some of Rowan's old favorite things to do. He'll still clap when you say "clap your hands". He now shakes his head to "no way" and "yes". He turns his head to the side or lays his head on something when you say "Oh, sweet baby". He also, for the first time tonight, tried to get me to eat his toy in the bath tub. He found it quite hilarious when I would bite down on his toy.
As you can see, Maddox has been practicing riding his first bike with Grandpa up at the cabin. We spent Thursday thru Tuesday there and it was much more relaxing than when he was just a month old. He slept the whole way up and almost the whole ride home, so that was just perfect.
He might just be a basketball star yet.

Carpet on the patio? - yes that's right. My dad is fond of having everyone comfortable, so last summer when Rowan was little he had a nice, clean square of carpet to lay out on the patio. Now, Maddox gets to play on it too.
Maddox just loved to play ball with Grandpa. He also just cracked up when Uncle Scott would dance in the yard for him. They held the fort down while Corey & I went out for a nice dinner for our 3 year anniversary. Thanks!
Maddox is quite interested in faces lately. He loves to just reach out and check out everyone in his arms length.
My new fishing hat - Grandma got the boys matching fishing hats at Gymboree for the summer. Aren't they just adorable.
Don't worry - Dad's in arms reach.
"Help! My bibs are too tight!" - Yes, Cousin Kelly, this outfit is just adorable, but Maddox's girth just can't be contained in it. We had to put in on though just to see how cute it is.

New toys! - Grandma & Grandpa just couldn't resist buying new toys for the cabin this summer.

Grandpa pulled out his old tricks of the trade. Maddox just becomes completely mesmerized when Grandpa pulls him around on a blanket.
Peekaboo!

My own little chair!
I love prunes! - Maddox is eating quite a variety of fruits and veggies. He is usually interested once a day and takes 6-8 bites.
Here's Maddox trying out Grandpa's gavel - Grandpa is the president of the association.
Gypsy Mama Bali Breeze - Here's my new, terrific sling. It's just the best thing EVER!

Here's Maddox's new way of sleeping. He hasn't quite slept on his tummy yet, but almost.

Little Hunter Joseph! Here's Hunter in a basket all cute at Amy's house. Amy had a terrific idea to snuggle him all in it for a picture.
Then, of course, we had to try Maddox out in it too. Too cute!

I've Got A Tooth!

Yes, that's right. Maddox popped out his first tooth last Sunday, Mother's Day! I know it's been forever since I've posted, but I was working like crazy the other week, so Corey was in charge.
Bath time with mama is one of his favorites for sure!
Maddox is still ever so changing. He's still a total mama's boy and the week I worked 10 night shifts in a row he was missing me quite a bit. He would fuss for Corey just so he would bring him to me to eat, but he would get there and just want to talk and snuggle with me. It was quite adorable.
Missin' his cousin! Maddox didn't get to see Rowan as much as he usually does while I was working, so when I was off we had to see Auntie Angie & Cousin Rowan first thing. It's so cute when we get together because Maddox gets all smiley with Rowan and Rowan just snuggles up to him with excitement. They love to hang out with each other. Rowan's had to keep his guard up though because Maddox now loves to grab hands full of hair. Ouch!
Well, we had to get Maddox a new chair to eat in because his thunder thighs didn't allow us to put the tray on the old one I got for a shower. We use that one for Rowan now.
Maddox now seems to like to eat. Usually he's only really interested once a day, but we offer 3 times a day. When he's really interested he'll take up to 6 bites or more. His favorites include apples, pears, and sweet potatoes. He definitely doesn't like rice cereal.
He does like to hold his own spoon too.
Daddy tried feeding him the other day too and Maddox found this to be quite hilarious.
Happy Mother's Day! - It was my first real Mother's Day this year and for breakfast we headed to Jensen's Cafe in Burnsville with Angie, Kyle & Rowan. It was delicious. We also went to Jenna & Andy's new place for a barbeque that evening - also delicious. I realized that I never got a picture of me and Maddox that day, so Rowan hugging Maddox will have to do.

Hunter Joseph! - Maddox' s new buddy was born last Friday, May 11th at 7:20am. My close friend Amy from work came in at 12:40am and I got to help her bring her first baby into the world. There are so many amazing things about my job, but helping someone I truly care about bring such a beautiful baby into the world definitely takes the cake. She did a terrific job, especially since she got it all done during my shift. Thanks for letting me take part in your birth! I love you lots!

Maddox had to try out Hunter's bassinet for a diaper change. I'm pretty sure he use to fit in there. Wow, 6 1/2 months sure brings on a lot of changes.

During Corey's week off, Maddox got to really see how crazy his daddy really is.
He got to play with an over-sized bat.
Learn all about drumming since his parents met marching drumline & drum corp together.
And still get put in some strange places. "Help, I can't get out!"
Riding around in the laundry basket. Such a great time!
He even got to help daddy with some mixing. Maybe he'll enjoy music as much as his daddy.
So tired! Corey was having difficulty getting Maddox down for a nap one of the days while I was sleeping, so he gave him his blanket, he rolled around a minute, and was out. Isn't that just so cute!

We got together with Corey's side of the family the other Sunday afternoon and hung out outside. It was just beautiful out. Here's a cute shot of him and Grandpa Chuck.

He loved to play with the mini beach ball they had.
Here's Auntie Jenna & Uncle Andy practicing their parenting skills.
Maddox is becoming such an interactive, fun little guy. We're having the time of our lives! I can't believe how our lives have changed. This little guy is just a blast. He should be popping out the remaining 2 top & 1 bottom center teeth any day. They're red and bulging, so we'll keep you posted. We're heading to Grandma & Grandpa's cabin next weekend, so we should have a ton of great pictures, so stay tuned...
