3 Months!

Well, I'm a little behind, but life has been quite hectic lately. My grandma had a stroke last weekend and passed away on Monday, so it's been quite crazy. I will be putting a "Great Grandma Barb" post up soon. Our little guy is now 3 months old (last Wednesday actually). He's just loving to stand and sit now, but his chubby legs can only hold him so long. He just gets so excited about it though, so we spend a lot of time helping him. Maddox hung out with Grandma & Grandpa a lot over the past weekend because it was the annual Alumni Tournaments in our hometown. Corey's basketball team took first place and my volleyball team took first too. It was a blast.
Grandpa is already convinced that Maddox can say "Grandpa", but we're all quite skeptical. Maddox thinks this idea is quite hilarious.
He's pretty good at sitting now. Corey thinks he's just leaning on his chub most of the time, but it's quite adorable. Here's a nice shot of him watching tennis.
Maddox just loves to play with his grandpa. Grandma & Grandpa were nice enough to watch Maddox on Saturday night, so Corey & I could go out with all of our high school friends.
He took two bottles of breast milk from Grandma like a pro and even got to take a bath (they're his favorite). When we got home we found Grandma and Maddox sleeping in our bed together. It was so cute!
Maddox still just loves bath time. We had to convert his tub to the second stage (sitting) because we just read that it should only be like a hammock until they are 10 lbs. We are definitely passed that, so here is his first bath sitting.
He's not a huge fan of getting his neck folds cleaned up...
...but he just loves to get his hair washed.
At the end of his bath he decided to share a surprise with us, so we filled the sink to re-wash him a bit. He wasn't exactly done, so he finished up in the sink (see above). Let's just say he was bathed three times that morning...
...but we finally got him squeaky clean.
Maddox is taking after his dad - he loves to take naps on the couch. We're going to have to put a stop to it soon though cause he's becoming quite the squirmer.
Auntie Jenna & Uncle Andy came over last weekend to play a little 500, so Maddox joined in until his bedtime.
He's getting better every day at grabbing his toys. He just loves his teething frog. About a week ago, when Corey was home for the day, Maddox grabbed his frog for the first time and Corey just about flipped. He was just so excited and took about 100 pictures.
He also still enjoys reading his books during tummy time. He's just becoming so fun that I can't imagine having to go back to work yet. I don't want to miss anything! Oh well, he will be in good hands with Corey and Auntie Angie. Okay, I promise not to go so long between posts now.

12 weeks!

Well, the past 12 weeks have flown by looking back. I can't believe how different Maddox is every day. He now smiles and giggles. His giggling is just so cute. He only does it once or twice a day so far, but I'm sure that will increase.
HE FOUND IT! - Yes, I know you were all holding your breath. Maddox has discovered his left hand. He now brings his hands together and apart and together and apart and together - well you know how babies are. Repetition is a must.
He still loves to be carried in his sling. I got a new ERGO one for christmas from Angie, Kyle & Rowan that I will have to get a picture of. I absolutely LOVE it too!

Tummy time is getting more fun for Maddox because I put him in front of his play gym. He just loves to look at the monkey!

"Hi Mommy!"
He also is starting to like standing more and more. It's a great way to work on those rolly-polly thighs.
Corey and I even got out on a date this past weekend with Angie & Kyle. We left the kids with Grandma & Grandpa and went to California Cafe. It was a much needed break, but after dinner Angie & I were itching to get back. The boys did great and had a blast playing all night. We'll have to do it again sometime (right Grandma & Grandpa)?
Only four more weeks and I will have to head back to work (yikes!), but only 5 nights a pay period, so not so bad. It's going to be so wierd being away from him at night, but it will be fun to help bring more babies into the world. I love my job!

Grandpa's Home!

Grandpa came home from his trip to Canada on Thursday afternoon, so we all had to have a welcome home party.
Rowan just loved his "baby Maddox". He played with him during tummy time...
...and just loved the football on his onsie. He just kept pointing at it.
Maddox's favorite thing to do his go "Bbbbb" with his lips together. Sometimes he sprays spit all over mommy, but that's okay.
Maddox checked out all the updated blogs with Grandpa.
Grandpa said just the right things to get Maddox to smile and laugh...
...and Grandma got him all snuggled in for bed.

11 Weeks! - Giggling

Yes, it's been 11 weeks now and Maddox is so much fun! He talks constantly now and loves to smile & laugh. We go to play groups and story time each week with Rowan and Auntie Angie. Rowan thinks it's just so fun to have his "Baby Maddox" with him.
Maddox now giggles at himself in the mirror. He likes to stand up in front of the mirror and when he pushes himself up he thinks it's hilarious.

He thought it was pretty funny when Mommy was taking pictures of his reflection too.
"I got it!" - Yes, Maddox can now pull on the toys hanging from his bouncy chair. He's even made the bird spin a few times.

Hangin' out with Daddy after work!
Daddy found Maddox a little busy reading his book. He wasn't too excited when he was interrupted by the camera.
Co-sleeping is definitely the way to go when you have a new baby. Maddox wakes up usually twice during the 10-12 hours he sleeps to nurse and he just snuggles right in with us. It's great not to have to get out of bed all night. That way we all stay well-rested.
Maddox loves to sleep with his Mommy.
Slumber party at Grandma Michelle's! Grandpa was out of town on Saturday night, so Maddox, Corey and I headed down to keep her company along with Kyle, Angie & Rowan. It was a lot of fun and we even kept Grandma up until after 1 am doing a puzzle and chatting.
Grandma was also nice enough to get Maddox all scrubbed up in the morning. He just loves bath time!
Then we headed to Grandma Jane & Grandpa Chuck's house for lunch. Maddox had to show off his ability to stand (with some assistance of course).

Just chillin' with Daddy
He liked checking himself out on the camera too.
Another exciting week!
